Successful Samhain
Samhain has officially passed, and I feel good about how it turned out. Granted, when it started, there was snow on the ground. And it was freezing when I was out on the porch to pass out treats. (I mean that literally, even though the snow melted, it started up again around six before turning to rain around seven.) Also, I only had 35 trick-or-treaters. One down from last year, actually. Ah well, that's what happens when you live in a retirement town.
The more exciting news comes in the form of the giveaways. Lasting from October 20 through the 31st, the giveaways consisted of 2 copies of Ivy and 1 copy each of Oleander and Valerian. Now, for the two copies of Ivy, there were 638 requests! Not bad; not bad, at all. For Oleander the requests came in at 492. And this being the first giveaway of Valerian, I was excited when it got 417 requests. Can't wait to see what the numbers are like for the Release Day giveaways for Hawthorn. Then right after that is the giveaways for the Valerian bookaversary. So plenty of opportunities to get your hands on them before the holidays.
There's also the excitement that comes with today: the beginning of NaNoWriMo! This November, I'm going to be attempting to write 50,000 words of ... Avens! This is the last book pertaining to Lex's adventures, and I'm eager to dive right into it, honestly. At the same time, I've been putting it off all day. What can I say? Procrastinating is genetic, lol.
That being said, I really do need to get started now. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Samhain/Halloween and if you're participating in NaNoWriMo, feel free to add me as a writing buddy. My username is: LAAVulpes!
